Get Speech Commands for TaskInsight

NOTE: Speech Commands Module 1 is an In App Purchase. To purchase the Speech Commands module, choose Purchase Speech Commands Module in the File menu. You will need your AppleID and password to authorize the purchase.

Speech Commands Module 1 provides speech control for various actions, including changing the selection, setting priorities, setting status, time shifting, sorting, speaking tasks, and other speech commands. Use your voice to say commands using the TaskInsight speech commands outlined above. The speech control uses the macOS speech command recognition system. Speech commands can be used in conjunction with the Dictation feature in macOS.

Using Speech Commands

To activate the Speech Commands feature in TaskInsight, turn on

Listen for Speech Commands in the TaskInsight’s File menu.

Speech Recognition can be enabled or disabled for TaskInsight in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Speech Recognition. The first time you turn on Listen for Speech Commands, you will be asked to authorized access to Speech Recognition.

The macOS system may also download the Voice Control module if it has never be used before on your system. This will take a few moments. After it completes, quit and restart TaskInsight to access the Speech Recognition feature used by TaskInsight’s Speech Commands.

If you get an alert when you turn on Listen for Speech Commands in TaskInsight that you need to enable Speech Recognition, then open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Speech Recognition to turn it on for TaskInsight.

Once Speech Recognition is enabled for TaskInsight, choosing Listen for Speech Commands will display the small microphone window and activate the Speech Commands feature in TaskInsight. Speak phrases as described in the Speech Reference to perform Speech Commands. Click Show in the microphone window to display the macOS Commands panel that displays the currently active speech commands. To deactivate Speech Commands, turn off Listen for Speech Commands in the File menu.

The first few times Listen for Speech Commands is turned on, TaskInsight will also automatically open the Speech Reference window. To prevent the Speech Reference window from opening automatically, turn off the Show Speech Reference upon listening option in TaskInsight Settings.
